Magazine Monday: Architectural Digest

Good morning lovelies!  Hope your weekend was fantastic!  Ours was eventful and full of fun!  Lauren got to see the Michael Jackson Cirque Du Soleil with her mom and sister Saturday night.  It was absolutely amazing and even better since they had fabulous seats!  Supposedly the best show ever!

Now for today’s Magazine Monday.  I don’t know if any of you watch NBC’s The Voice but it’s one of my new favorite shows.  Adam Levine, from the band Maroon 5 and one of the hosts of The Voice, gave a tour of his Los Angeles home in this months Architectural Digest.  It’s exactly what I pictured a rocker’s house would look like!

I just love how there is a photo of Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg hanging over his couch!

Magazine Monday: Elle Decor

Well hello Monday!  I am sure we are all recovering from Superbowl Sunday!  Whomever decided it was a great idea to have Superbowl on a Sunday is crazy.  However, checking the mail this morning was a special treat.  Yep, the new Elle Decor March 2012 was waiting just for me!  There were so many wonderful features in this months edition but I completely fell in love with Jackie Astier’s Upper East Side apartment.  Of course I am loving navy blue and gold right now and her apartment features so much of these two colors and I just can’t help but be swooning over this spread.

Tangerine Tango

Orange you glad spring is almost here?!  Sorry I just had to do it!  2012 is bringing bright & bold colors out in a big way!  The top color for this spring is tangerine tango.  It’s bright, cheery and fabulous!  It’s a great pop of color for any home, outfit or accessory!

Right now I am trying to decide where this perfect Tangerine Tango is going to be placed in my home! What about you?

Magazine Monday: Vegas Magazine

If you have never been to Vegas I highly recommend you book your flight right this second!  Seriously I mean it!  I went for my first time last year and instantly fell in love.  Now I must admit I am not a huge gambler, I like to come home with my money, but I didn’t really go there for the gambling.  It was scenery, the absolute top of the line hotels and of course the people watching.  I had the most amazing time ever and can’t wait to take the next plane there!

So with that, today’s Magazine Monday comes from the latest edition of Vegas Magazine.

Eric Strain, an architect from Vegas, built this home looking over Las Vegas Valley.  The owners wanted did not want something massive so instead Eric built 2 seperate living spaces with windows only facing east, away from the direct heat of the Vegas sun.  To read more on his views and about the home visit the website here.

Two homes joined by a footbridge: One living space is for the Eisenbergs, the other for their two children when they are home from college.  Just look beyond and see that gorgeous skyline!

Oh you know, just a serene view of the landscape and infinity pool.

Walters Kitchen Makeover

Triple L Designs is so pleased to share our latest project we just completed.  Mike & Shirley Walters wanted a fresh face-lift to their kitchen.  It’s where everyone congregates and they wanted to make it the center of their home. The face-lift included granite countertops, a beautiful back-splash, new flooring, painted cabinets, LED lighting and more. Take a tour of their new fabulous kitchen!

And the family dog, Lacy, had to make sure she was in the photo shoot as well!  Isn’t she gorgeous!

Magazine Monday: Sparkling Attitude

Hello Monday!  It was a wonderful weekend for the Triple L Design girls as we spent a fabulous weekend at a friends ranch house.  Just getting away for the weekend having fun, sitting around a campfire, playing games and enjoying good company.  We all need those weekends!  We hope yours was as good as ours.

Today’s Magazine Monday comes from the February 2012 edition of Architectural Digest.  One of the reasons that I love this magazine is because it is so classy and timeless.  Lately I have been gravitating to all the wonderful metal colors: gold, silver, pewter, “gilver” and copper.  So it’s absolutely perfect that they did a beautiful feature of a Manhattan apartment with all the fabulous shades of metal.

The owners of this stunning apartment, Darcy Miller Nussbaum {also the editorial director of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine} and husband Andrew.

So, um, when can I move in?!  This place is so chic and beautiful.  To pick out one favorite room in this apartment would be nearly impossible.  To see more of the article and all the details click here.

Magazine Monday: Lonny Magazine

Can you believe that Christmas is this coming weekend?  Wow!  This week Triple L Designs is trying to wrap up as much as we can before Santa comes down the chimney.  But we couldn’t miss Magazine Monday!  This week’s edition is from Lonny Magazine.  They recently featured an article on the new store C. Wonder.  Not only is it supposed to be an amazing shopping experience but can you imagine shopping in a wonderfully designed store, each section having its own beauty?!  Take a look!

Pure beauty.  I want to go shop there now!  So many of these designs I want to try in my house: the navy blue furniture with green striped walls and the amazing glamour of the bathroom.  It takes shopping to a whole new level.

So when you are shopping for your loved ones right now take notice of the store’s decor.  You might just find something that inspires you.  Happy Monday!

Thomas Residence

We are so pleased to share our latest project we completed recently for one of our newest clients!  Tojo and Lisa Thomas contacted us back in September after they purchased their first home together in the Bellaire area.  Lauren and I actually attended school with Lisa back in the day and it was a great privilege to be able to help transform their new home into the vision they desired!  The house was a newly built home and had wonderful structure and charm to it.  We were excited to start from scratch and created a beautiful transitional space for the family.

Magazine Monday: Traditional Home

Christmas is right around the corner.  Actually less than 2 weeks!  So it’s natural that everywhere we turn there are lights and decorations celebrating this time of the year.  Even the magazines are covered from front to back with trees, garlands and all the trimmings.  Traditional Home magazine did it best though with this gorgeous house from Dallas, Texas!

I just love the soft winter feel of the house!  It’s still cozy and it makes me want to cuddle up on the couch with my hot chocolate and watch the old black and white Christmas movies I love so dearly!

Magazine Monday: Drama Lessons

Elle Decor has done it again.  Can you tell it’s one of my favorite magazine’s?  Garrow Kedigian updated an apartment once belonging to designer Jamie Drake in Manhattan’s Flatiron district.  Garrow reused and recycled a lot of Jamie’s design but meshed his clients sense of style and bohemian-chic sensibility.

Magazine Monday: Architectural Digest

Well hello Monday!  This week is going to be a busy one for Triple L Designs.  We have an install planned for this Thursday so we are going to give you a sneak peek into a designers life and all that it takes to achieve a gorgeous well planned design!  So let’s start off the week with Magazine Monday!

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi graced the cover of this months Architectural Digest and gave us a view into their home.  Their style is simple and sophisticated but with touches of their own personalities and travels.  One of my favorite touches has to be the clear ping-pong table greeting you as soon as you walk through the door!  How fun is that!?

Magazine Monday: Rue Magazine

Happy Monday!  The weather is a bit dreary in Houston today.  So for today’s Magazine Monday we are going to take a tour of a bright and cheery bungalow featured in the Anniversary Issue of Rue Magazine.  The owner is the talented interior designer Leah Ball Steen.  Her use of vintage furnishings, red and turquoise color palette and touch of Hollywood glamour makes for a stunning space!

Doesn’t the house have an instant feel of happiness!?  Here’s to a happy and fabulous week!
